Rich was born in Chicago not too far from Wrigley Field. He met the love of his life in high school. After receiving degrees from Northern Illinois University and beginning their careers in the Chicago area, they ran away from “winter” to the sunny south. For the next five years Rich continued to establish himself in an industrial sales and management career that lead to opening an industrial component part hardware business. For the next 14 years he and his wife built their business and raised two children together just north of Atlanta. Now with their two children grown Leslie has returned to her first career as an R.N. and together, they run another family business as property managers. A good bit of Rich’s time is spent at an independent living community keeping “seniors” off of ladders and performing home maintenance tasks they should no longer attempt. His participation in VAF provides an opportunity to lend a hand in business development, to honor his father and brother’s military service and to remember all those that have played a role in protecting and serving their Country and their fellow citizens.
